Chili con carne is the ultimate comfort food that warms you up. It is thought that the dish originates from Mexico but in fact it was created in America. More of a Tex-Mex origin. There are versions where beans are included or omitted. Whatever your beliefs, cook the version that is closest to your heart and you have a delicious meal. Make this in the itaki for lunch in the office and it will fill you up ready for the next challenge.

Craving a bowl of chili in the office? No need to join the crowd during peak lunch hour. Make you own chili in the office with the Itaki by following this recipe. Just add water to the prepare ingredients, sit back and relax and a hot steaming bowl of chili is ready within an hour.
Ingredients
- 200 gm - ground turkey (or beef, chicken, pork)
- 2 Tbsp - chili mix (any brand or make your own)
- 5 Tbsp - tomato paste
- 2 Tbsp - fried onion
- 100 gm - kidney beans
- 100gm - cherry tomato
- 100 gm - mushrooms
- 1/3 cup - water (itaki)
- 1/3 cup - water (chili)
Instructions
- Cut cherry tomatoes into halves.
- Cut mushrooms into quarters.
- Add chili mix to the ground meat and mix.
- Prep the itaki. Drizzle some oil to the bottom of the metal bowl.
- Add the ground meat and spread it out.
- Add the tomato paste, fried onion, kidney beans, cherry tomatoes and mushroom.
- Cover and keep in the fridge until ready to cook.
- Add 1/3 cup of water to the bottom of the itaki 1 hour before meal.
- Place the metal bowl in the itaki.
- Add 1/3 cup of water to the ingredients.
- Cover and turn on the itaki.
- Chili is cooked in 30 minutes. Stir and enjoy.
Notes
- Use any type of ground meat to your liking.
