Making the Hong Kong Style Tomato Sauce Pork Chop Pasta in the Itaki is easy. Layer all the ingredients in the Itaki the night before and bring it to work the next day (remember to keep it in the refrigerator till ready to cook). Plug the Itaki in one hour before lunch and you will have a hot and delicious meal waiting for you.
Ingredients
- 50 gm - cherry tomatoes
- 50 gm - button mushrooms
- 250 gm - pork shoulder
- 0.5 cup - pasta
- 1 Tbsp - frozen peas
- 1 Tbsp - frozen corn
- 1/3 cup - water (itaki)
- 1/3 cup - water (pasta)
Sauce:
- 1.5 Tbsp - tomato paste
- 1 Tbsp - ketchup
- 0.5 Tbsp - soy sauce
- 0.5 Tbsp - honey
- 1 Tbsp - fried onion
- 0.5 tsp - garlic powder
Instructions
- Cut the cherry tomatoes into halves.
- Cut the mushrooms into quarters.
- Make the sauce by mixing together the tomato paste, ketchup, soy sauce, honey, fried onion & garlic powder.
- Layer the ingredients in the itaki. First add the pasta.
- Add the tomatoes next
- Add the pork shoulder slices.
- Add the sauce and spread it out over the pork.
- Add the mushroom.
- Add peas and corn.
- Cover with plastic cover and keep in the fridge until ready to cook.
- Add water to the base of the itaki.
- Add water to the metal bowl and cook.
- Wait for 30 mins for food to cook.
- Stir to combine sauce with pasta and meat.
- Enjoy your meal!
Notes
- Feel free to use raw onions instead of fried onions.
