Fancy having some freshly cooked pasta bolognese for lunch in the office? Follow this simple recipe with the itaki pro and you will have lunch ready in no time. Just add water to the prepared ingredients one hour before lunch, then sit back and relax (or continue to work) while your food cooks. Remember to keep the prepared ingredients in the refrigerator until cooking time.
Ingredients
- 100g - napa cabbage
- 20g - fresh shiitake mushroom
- 150g - chicken thigh
- 1 packet - udon
- 1 tsp - better than bouillon (chicken)
- 50g - shredded carrots
- 35g - chikuwa fish cake
- 1/3 cup - water (itaki)
- 1/3 cup - water (udon)
Marinade
- 1 Tbsp - soy sauce
- 1 tsp - sesame oil
Instructions
- Cut stems of napa cabbage into thin strips. Cut leaves into bigger pieces.
- Cut shiitake mushrooms into halves.
- Marinate chicken thigh with soy sauce and sesame oil.
- Prepare the itaki by adding udon to the bottom of the metal bowl.
- Add the Better Than Bouillon followed by carrots.
- Add the cabbage stems first. Then add the marinated chicken.
- Add shiitake mushrooms followed by chikuwa fish cake.
- Finally add the cabbage leaves.
- Cover the metal bowl and keep in the fridge if not cooking immediately.
- One hours before meal time, add 1/3 cup of water to the hotplate of the itaki.
- Add 1 cup of water to the ingredients to act as the soup base.
- Cover and turn on the itaki.
- Wait for 30 minutes and the udon soup is ready. Stir and enjoy!
Notes
- Change chikuwa to normal fish cake if not available.
- Use any type of vegetables you like.
